Falmouth University, Strategic Projects & Corporate Events Manager

What skills & experience do you bring to the CSP Board?
My introduction to community sports development came through the role of Business Development Manager at Energize Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin.  It was a complete change from my previous career in sales in financial services and I was inspired by the commitment of everyone I met working in sport and physical activity.

Since then I've worked in funding, development and relationship management roles in a charity and for University of Exeter.  My current role at Falmouth University is wide ranging and that combined with my previous experience gives me a broad base of skills in business, leadership and development.

Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I'm from Dublin and have lived in the UK for over 20 years, and Cornwall since 2009.  I live in Falmouth with my husband Kevin and nine year old daughter, and we were drawn here by family and the sea. My daughter has started to benefit from the fantastic sport and activity provision, and since we have moved here it seems to have just gotten better and better.

What do you like to do in your free/spare time?
I am completely in love with Cornwall so like to spend time out and about in our beautiful countryside and coastlines, with the family and dog for company.  We have an elderly camper van which takes us to the fabulous wild places right on our doorstep for mini adventures throughout the year.  Activity wise, I like to swim, I'm attempting to learn to surf and I am obsessed by an outdoor fitness class, Fitness Wild, which I talk about far,far too much.
